Terms of Service

Effective 18 September 2026 · Last updated 18 September 2026

These terms govern your use of Clenans. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. If you are using Clenans on behalf of a school, university or organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

1. Who you are contracting with

Clenans is currently operated as a sole proprietorship by Kenan Sadhu, based in Indonesia. Contact: kenan.sadhu@clenans.com. When the operating company is incorporated, these terms will be updated to name it, and continued use after that update will be subject to the revised terms.

2. What the service is

Clenans is a platform for educators and learners providing AI-assisted grading, quiz and assessment authoring, an AI tutor, class materials study tools, learning-progress analytics, and integration with learning management systems via LTI 1.3. Features change as the platform develops.

3. Accounts

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. AI output — read this part

AI output is a suggestion, never a decision. Grades, feedback, generated questions, tutoring explanations and analytics produced by AI may be wrong, incomplete or misleading. They are provided for a qualified human to evaluate.

The platform is built around that principle: AI output is staged for review, and a teacher approves what becomes a grade or reaches a student. You agree that:

6. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload or create: teaching materials, rubrics, assignments, questions, and student work. Clenans claims no ownership of it.

You grant Clenans the licence needed to operate the service for you — to store your content, transmit it to the AI providers listed in the Privacy Policy so requested features can run, process it to generate the outputs you ask for, and display it to the users your institution's configuration permits. This licence exists to run the platform and for no other purpose.

As described in the Privacy Policy, records of grading decisions, teacher corrections to AI output, and learning-progress evidence are retained and used to improve the platform's AI quality.

7. Availability and changes

The platform is under active development. Features may be added, changed or removed, and the service may be unavailable during maintenance or because of faults in infrastructure we do not control. Clenans is provided without any uptime commitment unless a separate written agreement with your institution says otherwise.

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Clenans maintains backups, but you should not treat the platform as your only record of grades or student work.

8. Fees

Access is currently provided free of charge or under individually agreed institutional arrangements. If paid plans are introduced, existing users will be given notice before any charge applies, and nothing you have already uploaded will be held hostage to a payment.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Clenans at any time and request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access that breaches these terms, poses a security risk, or is required to stop by law. Where an institution controls your account, it may also terminate your access.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clenans is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clenans and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or academic or reputational consequences arising from use of the platform — including any consequence of relying on AI output without the human review these terms require.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, and the courts of Indonesia have jurisdiction over any dispute — unless a separate written agreement with an institution specifies otherwise, or your local consumer law gives you a right you cannot be deprived of by contract.

13. Changes to these terms

We will update this page as the platform and the operating entity change. The effective date at the top reflects the current version, and material changes will be notified to account holders by email or in the application. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
